Getting the Schengen Visa
Pretty straightforward like usual right? Go to the embassy, apply for the visa and wait a few working days for the approval. Wrong!
Iceland does not have an embassy in Dubai. But not to worry, the Denmark embassy in Dubai oversees visa approvals to Iceland. They are located at the Gold and Diamond Park along Sheikh Zayed Road.
All you have to do is make sure you have the required documents ready. Meanwhile you can book your appointment at the embassy here.
If you have already applied for Schegen Visa before, you know the process. The required documents are: passport, passport-sized photos, Emirates ID, 3 months bank statement, NOC from employer (if not self employed), previous schengen visa (if applicable), confirmed flight tickets and hotel reservations. We were told the process would take about 15 days, but were surprised when we were told you collect our passports with stamped visa within 2 working days. That was quick.
Oh and do not forget the most important thing, the Shenghen Visa Form. You can download it here.
Now with that done, our trip was official. Next came the flight bookings, vehicle renting and accommodation.
